Dhonden Foundation

Dhonden Foundation was founded in 2001 by Geshe Sonam Gyaltsen, known to his students as 'Geshela'. Geshela has been teaching Buddhism at the Maitreya Institute in the Netherlands since he arrived here in 1992. Geshela offers his western students of Buddhism and all sympathetic supporters with a reliable charity for the practice of generosity and compassion.

Under Geshela's supervision, the governing board consists entirely of volunteers, who not only undertake the organisational tasks, but also donate all organisation and administrative costs themselves. By paying for these expenses personally (e.g. costs of promotional events, fund-raising projects and administration), the board members guarantee that every cent you dontate to the Dhonden foundation will reach the project in mind.
