Tsawa Khamtsen's Prayer Hall

Tsawa Khamtsen is a monastic house within the Ganden Jangtse monastery. It houses over 350 monks and so its a large monastic community. Over recent years the number of monks has grown explosively - the number has doubled within a couple of years!

The central prayer hall can no longer contain all of the residing monks during their shared spiritual studies and practices, making a larger prayer hall very necessary.

"The construction of the new prayer hall has begun. This construction project will take about three years before the new hall is completed (it is likely to be completed in 2012). There will then be a central prayer hall with additional rooms built for the monks around this central building. The building will likely consist of three levels, and its possible that the library can be situated within this new building.
